Don’t Put God in a Box

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think , according to the power that worketh in us. Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21

As I sat at my desk looking over college costs for my oldest daughter’s education, in desperation I cried out “Lord, I need some money!”  A few minutes later my manager handed me a piece of paper.  “What’s this?” I asked glancing over the paper. “It’s this year’s incentive bonus.” He replied.    I sat in utter amazement.  God doesn’t always provide an answer to our requests within minutes; for it’s in our patience that we posses our souls; but when He does we are reminded of His sovereignty.

Phillipians 4:19 says “But  my  God  shall supply   all  your  need  according to His riches in glory  by  Christ  Jesus”.  But do we only trust Him with the situations that we feel we can’t handle or those situations in which we’re desperate?  Do we only give Him the load that seems unbearable?   If I acknowledge Him in all my ways He will direct my paths.  God has the ability to lead, guide and direct me in every area of my life; not just the seemingly impossible.  In both great and small matters He is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond what I am able to think or even understand. Doesn’t it take the same faith to ask for a need to be met as it does for the healing of our bodies or for the gospel of Jesus Christ to impact our communities?

If we’re not careful we will limit God in our thinking; but His ability is limitless. Don’t put God in box; for even the heavens can’t contain Him.

Exhortation for Today

You can quote scriptures of healing and restoration, but never trust Me enough or call Me to heal you.   You’ve asked Me to heal cancers, migraines, high blood pressure, low blood sugar, but the inward things that no one knows about; you keep year after year.  Ever learning that I am a Healer but never coming into the knowledge.  Because some knowledge is based upon experience and you won’t allow Me to work.  Let it go! For I am Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord that healeth thee!  For sleepless nights and disturbing dreams; Jehova-Shalom, the God of Peace.  In this economy Jehovah Jireh, the Lord your Provider.  Is there anything to hard for Me?  I am the God of all comfort.  I am your strength.

Prayer for Today

Father,

I acknowledge your sovereignty and open my mind to endless possibilities in You according to Your will.  I trust you with my life and my destiny.  Thank you for the gift of this day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
